[DMANET] postdoctoral position in quantum algorithms at the University of Lethbridge

Applications from outstanding candidates are invited for a
postdoctoral fellowship in quantum algorithms and optimization at the
University of Lethbridge. The research explores applications of
quantum algorithms in blockchain systems and genomics data analysis.
The position is for one year, but may be extended for up to three
years, subject to the availability of funds. The position is available
immediately. Salary: 50,000 CAD per year.

The fellow will join the Optimization Research Group at the University
of Lethbridge and will work closely with its members, members of the
RNA Genomics Lab (Southern Alberta Genome Sciences Centre) led by
Dr. Athan Zovoilis, and colleagues from the universities of Alberta and
Calgary who are part of the Quantum Alberta research network. The
Optimization Research Group consists of three faculty (Drs Shahadat
Hossain, Daya Gaur, and Robert Benkoczi) and several graduate students
at the masters and PhD level whose research areas include quantum
computing, telecommunication, transportation and logistics, scientific
computation, and bioinformatics. The group members work in a relaxed
and collegial atmosphere and maintain strong research collaborations
within the group, across Canada and internationally.

Applicants should have a track record of research in Quantum Computing
and a PhD degree in Computer Science, Physics, or a related
field. Programming experience is a plus. Proof of degree completion
must be provided prior to the start date of the fellowship.

To apply, please submit a letter of intention, a CV, a research
statement, the contact information for three referees, and a sample of
your publications, to the e-mail address below. Please use the subject
"PDF application" in your e-mail. Applications are accepted until the
position is filled.

Lethbridge is located in Southern Alberta, Canada, close to the border
with the province of British Columbia and the state of Montana. It is
only 1.5 hours drive from the Rockies and the Waterton Lakes National
Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and less than 2 hours drive from
Calgary.
