[DMANET] Assistant Professor (tenure-track) and Postdoctoral positions at Department of Statistics, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Jose Nino-Mora)

The Department of Statistics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M), in
Spain, invites applications for up to three full-time positions, either at
the tenure-track Assistant Professor (up to two positions) or the
(non-tenure track) Postdoctoral level, depending on qualifications. The
positions will start on September 1, 2022.

Job requirements include:

- An excellent track record of research experience in any of the areas of
the Department (Econometrics, Operations Research, Probability and
Statistics), reflected in high-quality internationally refereed
publications.

- A PhD in related fields by the expected start date.

- Demonstrated high-quality teaching experience and/or proven didactic
skills.

- Excellent proficiency in English (written and verbal, as faculty are
expected to teach courses in English, both at the undergraduate and
graduate levels).

Conditions of employment include:

- For the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) positions, a contract
renewable up to a total of eight years, subject to a positive initial
evaluation in the second year, after which the candidate would enter the
UC3M 4+2 Program (six additional years, subject to a positive evaluation in
the third year), with the prospect of becoming a tenured Associate
Professor (Profesor Titular), in compliance with Spanish and University
regulations. The salary corresponds to that of a Profesor Titular in public
Spanish universities.

- For the Postdoctoral (non-tenure track) positions, a contract for one
year renewable up to a total of three years, with the possibility of moving
to a tenure-track position depending on academic performance. The salary
corresponds to that of an Assistant Professor (Ayudante Doctor) in public
Spanish universities.

UC3M (see www.uc3m.es/Home) is a high-ranking young (founded in 1989)
research-oriented public Spanish university. The Department of Statistics
(see www.uc3m.es/statistics), which has about 35 full-time faculty members
with a broad variety of research interests, within Statistics, Econometrics
and Operations Research, is committed to excellent standards in teaching
and research. The Department is involved in teaching Statistics,
Econometrics and Operations Research related courses in most undergraduate
degrees offered by UC3M, spanning the Schools of Engineering, Social
Sciences, and Humanities. The Department participates as well in several
postgraduate programs, especially the Master in Statistics for Data Science
and the Master in Big Data Analytics, and in a PhD program. A large share
of courses are taught in English.

Foreign applicants must have valid documentation to work in Spain prior to
starting.
