Job description:

The "phylogenetic tree" model has been used by scientists for 150 years to
describe evolutionary history.
Due to its limitations, the more powerful "phylogenetic network" model is
becoming increasingly popular.
This project will develop new tools for designing algorithms for phylogenetic
networks.

The appointee will assist the project leader (Dr. Jesper Jansson at Kyoto
University, Japan) to complete the project.
He/She will be required to:

(a) pursue theoretical research in phylogenetic networks, graph algorithms,
succinct data structures, bioinformatics, computational complexity, or other
related areas; and

(b) publish research papers in international conference proceedings and
journals, as well as conduct presentations.
