[DMANET] Two Faculty Positions in Combinatorics & Optimization at the University of Waterloo

The Department of Combinatorics and Optimization
(http://www.math.uwaterloo.ca/CandO_Dept/) at the University of
Waterloo invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions.

Position #1 is in Operations Research, and
Position #2 is in any one of the of the six main areas covered by the
department: Algebraic Combinatorics, Continuous Optimization, Cryptography,
Discrete Optimization, Graph Theory, and Quantum Computing. Priority areas
for this appointment are Algebraic Combinatorics and Graph Theory.

Both positions require a Ph.D. degree and evidence of excellence in
research and teaching. Successful applicants are expected to maintain
an active program of research, to attract and supervise graduate
students, and to participate in undergraduate and graduate teaching.
In addition, applicants for position #1 are expected to seek out and
participate in industrial collaborations. Salary will depend on the
candidate's qualifications. The effective date of appointment is July
1, 2011.

The intention is to hire at the rank of Assistant Professor for both
positions. We will however consider more senior applications for
position #1.

Interested individuals should apply using the MathJobs site:
http://www.mathjobs.org.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae, research and teaching
statements, and up to three selected reprints/preprints. In addition,
at least three reference letters should be submitted. Inquiries may be
addressed to combopt@math.uwaterloo.ca or to

Jochen Koenemann, Chair,
