The Operations Research group of the Computer Science Department
(LIP6) at the University Pierre and Marie Curie offers a postdoctoral
position in online algorithms. The position is supported by the ANR
project NeTOC "New Techniques in Online Algorithms" that is focused on
recently introduced methods for the analysis of online algorithms.
Additional information on the research project can be found at the web
site https://sites.google.com/site/anrnetoc. The Operations Research
group consists of several researchers in the areas of algorithmic
design and analysis, mathematical programming and theoretical computer
science. The members of the group and their activities can be found at
http://www.lip6.fr/recherche/team_membres.php?id=320.
Candidates with strong qualifications in all areas of algorithm design
and theoretical analysis are encouraged to apply. Prior work on online
algorithms is desirable but not a requirement. Applicants should hold
a Ph.D. degree (in computer science or related disciplines) or be
close to obtaining it. Knowledge of French is not required, but good
communication skills and a solid knowledge of English are essential.
The position is available starting September 2013 (with some
flexibility on the starting date). Funding is available for one year,
