The Institute of Medical Technology at Hamburg University of Technology
has one research focus on medical robotics. Particularly, we are
interested in multi-criteria optimization and machine learning methods for
treatment planning in robotic radiosurgery.
Currently, we have an open position for a PhD candidate to study the
integration of a second robot holding an ultrasound probe into the
planning problem. Given the number of possible beam and ultrasound pose
combinations we study efficient heuristics and machine learning approaches
to identify the patient specific trade-offs quickly.
The successful applicant holds a Master's degree in computer science,
mathematics, or similar fields and ideally has a solid background in
linear programming, heuristic search and machine learning methods.
Excellent programming skills (Java / C++) and fluency in English are
prerequisites; experience in publishing papers is a plus.
Please, find the official job posting at
https://intranet.tuhh.de/aktuell/stellen/stelle.html?kenn_nr=D-16-76 and
feel free to contact me for more information. Note that the application
deadline is May 28th 2016.
