[DMANET] University of Bonn: Open position of a doctoral student within DFG research unit Algorithmic Data Analytics for Geodesy

A position of a doctoral student within the DFG-funded research unit
Algorithmic Data Analytics for Geodesy (https://www.algoforge.de/) is open
at the Geoinformation Group at the University of Bonn
(https://www.geoinfo.uni-bonn.de/en?set_language=en). The successful
candidate will work on subproject C1 (Simultaneous Simplification and
Aggregation for Interactive Maps, https://www.algoforge.de/projects.html) of
the research unit.
Our group at the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformation at the University
of Bonn is offering the position (German salary group 13 TV-L, full-time,
aspired doctoral degree: Dr.-Ing.) for four years and starting as soon as
possible.

Recruitment requirements:
- MSc in computer science or geoinformation science or a related discipline
- knowledge and experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating
algorithms for analyzing geometric data
- proficient English, both spoken and written
- interest in cartography
- interest in working in an interdisciplinary research unit of seven
subprojects, together with leading experts in computational geometry,
algorithm engineering, data analytics, cartography, and sea-level geodesy

Experience in cartography or (geo)information visualization as well as in
working with geospatial data is advantageous.
