[DMANET] Head of MATH+ Junior Research Group "Optimization Under Uncertainty"

The Berlin Mathematics Research Center MATH+ invites applications to head an
independent Junior Research Group (JRG) in the field "Optimization Under
Uncertainty".

Algorithmic Discrete Mathematics plays a key role as connecting link between
mathematics, computer science and various applications in economy and industry.
The successful candidate will have a firm background in algorithmic discrete
mathematics and discrete optimization on top of a doctorate in Mathematics,
Computer Science, or related disciplines. They will have a research program in
"Optimization Under Uncertainty", for example, in the fields of robust
optimization, data-driven optimization, online algorithms, or algorithmic game
theory. In addition, the successful applicant will be interested in
co-operations with other scientific disciplines as well as with industry and
commercial enterprises. They will have a notable record of research in the form
of publications in peer-reviewed conferences and journals, awards, invited talks
and other scholarly achievements, as appropriate for their career path and stage.

The research center MATH+ provides a supporting environment to gain
international visibility and give the JRG leader a head-start in building their
own research profile and group within a large Cluster of Excellence and the very
active Berlin mathematical landscape. JRG leaders will also be given the
opportunity to gain teaching and supervision experience at the undergraduate and
graduate level.

MATH+ faculty and students come from all over the world and we offer a vibrant,
