We are looking for a colleague who would like to work with us on the DFG-funded project "Bin Packing with Irregular Shapes" (see https://gepris.dfg.de/gepris/projekt/561644927?language=en).
Your tasks:
* Algorithm development, implementation, testing, and evaluation
* Teaching
* Presenting at national and international workshops and conferences
Your profile:
In addition to the general requirements, according to public services law, applicants must meet the recruitment requirements stipulated in § 57 of the Hochschulgesetz of Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition, they must have the following qualifications:
* An excellent scientific university degree (MSc), preferably in Operations Research, Discrete Mathematics, or Computer Science
* Profound knowledge in discrete optimization and in the development of algorithms, in particular the implementation of Operations Research methods as well as software development in a team
* Proficiency in C++ programming (including the use of the STL)
* Proficiency in written and spoken English; at least basic language skills in German
