Areas of interest include one or more of the following: advanced optimization methods (linear, integer, stochastic, robust, distributionally robust, and chance-constrained optimization); predictive and prescriptive analytics bridging forecasting and decision-making; learning-integrated decision frameworks (predict-then-optimize, decision-focused learning, and reinforcement learning); and algorithmic decision models combining mathematical programming with AI techniques. The successful candidate is expected to play an active role within the Louvain Institute for Data Analysis and Modeling (LIDAM), and more specifically within CORE, by participating in academic events, publishing in leading journals in operations research, mathematical programming, and machine learning, supervising doctoral students, and collaborating actively with researchers at CORE, LIDAM, and the Institute of Information and Communication Technologies, Electronics, and Applied Mathematics (ICTEAM). 2. Academic position in "Quantitative Supply Chain Management" Full announcement and application details: https://jobs.uclouvain.be/PersonnelAcademique/job/An-academic-in-Quantitative-Supply-Chain-Management/1433540233/ This position focuses on developing an internationally visible research agenda addressing complex decision and optimization problems in one or more of the following areas: supply chain design, planning, and operations at strategic, tactical, and operational levels, including sourcing, production, inventory, distribution, and transportation. Representative applications include, but are not limited to, network design, supplier selection and contract design, pricing and tariff optimization, production planning and scheduling, inventory control, routing, and decision-making under risk and uncertainty, including reliability and resilience considerations. The research program is grounded in mathematical programming, with expected expertise in integer, stochastic, robust, and distributionally robust optimization applied to complex logistics problems. The integration of optimization with data-driven approaches, leveraging statistical and econometric methods to improve uncertainty modeling and support real-world decision-making, is a valued extension of the research agenda. The successful candidate is expected to play an active role within LIDAM, and more specifically within CORE, by participating in academic events, publishing in leading journals in operations research and management science, supervising doctoral students, and collaborating actively with researchers at CORE, LIDAM, and related institutes, including the Louvain Research Institute in Management and Organizations (LOURIM) and ICTEAM. The teaching load associated with both positions may involve courses taught in English and French, at both bachelor’s and master’s levels, across the campuses of the Louvain School of Management (LSM). Knowledge of French is not required at the beginning of the appointment, but candidates are expected to acquire it before confirmation of the appointment.
