The University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), active in the fields of natural and built environment, economics, technological innovation, ap- plied art, social work and healthcare, learning and education, theatre and music, opens at the Department of Innovative technologies, "Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence" (IDSIA) a full-time position for a Researcher on intelligent systems for Mobility, Transportation and Logistics.
Tasks
Active involvement in EU and Swiss research projects related to intelligent systems for the management of transportation, logistics and mobility systems.
Development and implementation of optimization algorithms and simulation models for the study and management of complex networked systems.
Requirements
PhD degree in engineering, computer science, or other strongly quantitative areas (preferably with a PhD thesis on the topics of this call).
Proven experience in writing peer reviewed scientific work and publications.
Operational knowledge on various mathematical programming solvers such as C-PLEX, Gurobi, GAMS and so on. The knowledge of simulation languages and environments, with a particular focus on transportation systems is appreciated, as well as the knowledge of one or more scientific development environments such as MATLAB, R, etc.
Excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of the Italian and/or German language will be positively considered.
Ability to work in teams and in a collaborative environment.
