[DMANET] StringMasters 2019 and GraphMasters 2019 CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

StringMasters 2019 and GraphMasters 2019 CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

July 22, Department of Computer Science, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy
(The day before IWOCA 2019 is held on the same venue)
Register by: June 22, 2019, via email (no attendance fee)

AIMS AND SCOPE

StringMasters ( http://stringmasters.di.unipi.it ) was established with the
aim of bringing together researchers in string algorithms at all levels
(senior, junior, especially graduate students) to study current problems of
particular theoretical and practical interest. It is informal, with no
scheduled presentations, entirely devoted to new research resulting from
the interactions among the participants.

Typically small impromptu groups form, of about 2 to 5 researchers, who
share a common interest in a problem. Old collaborations are reinforced,
and new collaborations are formed. The workshop is accommodated in several
meeting rooms to allow space for the parallel working groups and for
general milling around.

GraphMasters ( http://graphmasters.di.unipi.it ) is an open workshop
organized to foster collaboration between researchers interested in graph
algorithms and problems. The spirit of the workshop is informal: we will
provide working space for participants, who are welcome to group as they
like and seek each other's counsel and opinion.

Participants are encouraged to bring interesting problems to share with
others. We welcome all graph-related problems, including those not directly
involving graphs but that you suspect may be modeled as such.

ORGANIZATION

Both workshops will be held on 22 July, the day before IWOCA 2019 (
http://iwoca2019.di.unipi.it ), at the University of Pisa, Italy.
A joint opening session will be held in the morning for presenting the open
problems and collaboration between the working groups will be possible
during the day, although different working spaces will be provided.

Attendance is free for everyone, but for organization purposes you should
email the organizers ( conte [at] di.unipi.it or giovanna.rosone [at]
unipi.it ) to show your interest before June 22nd. Attendants of IWOCA 2019
will also be able to show their interest in the IWOCA registration form.

We plan to gather some problems beforehand to startup the discussion on the
22nd, if you want to suggest some (we warmly invite you to do so) email the
organizers ( conte [at] di.unipi.it for graph-related problems, or
giovanna.rosone [at] unipi.it for string-related problems )

ORGANIZERS

Alessio Conte, University of Pisa (GraphMasters)
Giovanna Rosone, University of Pisa (StringMasters)
Rossano Venturini, University of Pisa (StringMasters)
