[DMANET] PostDoc position on Steiner-type Problems at Uni Osnabrueck, Germany

We are offering a PostDoc position (2 years, 100% TV-L 13, starting
October 1st!) at the beautiful city of Osnabrück, Germany.

The applicant (you?) will become part of the Theoretical Computer
Science group, headed by Prof. Markus Chimani. You will work together
with further research groups in mathematics (Discrete Maths, Algebra,
Stochastics) and computer science (Combinatorial Optimization,
Distributed Systems). The topic of this joint research is, in a broad
sense, Steiner problems (like Steiner trees, Steiner networks, Spanners,
etc.). You will also be invovled in writing related funding applications
(which may lead to further extensions beyond the two years).

Requirements:
*) outstanding PhD in Computer Science or Mathematics (in particular
Theoretical Computer Science, Discrete Mathematics, or Combinatorial
Optimization)
*) profound knowledge in graph theory/problems/algorithms, in particular
Steiner- or related network, routing, or subgraph problems
*) knowledge in Theoretical Computer Science, Discrete Maths,
Combinatorial Optimization (perhaps even also in Stochastics and
Distributed Systems?)
*) independent research experience in the above topics, witnessed by
scientific publications at international conferences or journals

Ideally, you have:
*) experience with university teaching
*) experience with cooperations between practical CS, theoretical CS and
maths

We offer:
*) a welcoming research environment in the context of multiple
cooperating research groups of different backgrounds
*) continuous scientific support
*) flexible working hours and very good technical infrastructure

Your application (a *single* PDF file, including the typical documents)
should be sent to chimani@uos.de. Deadline: 16.8.2019.

The formal job offer can be found at
