>From October 7 to 10, the German VHB (German Academic Association for
Business Research) is offering a ProDok-Workshop for doctoral students on
"Simulation Modelling for Business Research" The course will be taught by
Catherine Cleophas (Christian-Albrechts-University
Kiel). Please find more information here:

Business research increasingly considers wicked problems and complex
dynamic systems. Analytical models of such problems and systems quickly
become untraceable and unsolvable. Given increasing computational power,
simulation models provide an alternative tool. They can fuel studies
tracing the long-term evolution of systems and comparing the outcomes of
alternative scenarios. However, successfully applying simulation modelling
for business research requires expertise on applicable simulation
paradigms, approaches to model validation and the analysis of stochastic
results.
Interested potential participants can sign up until September 8, 2019, via
the electronic sign-up system found here:
https://vhbonline.org/en/events/the-phd-program/registration-participation-payment/or
via email to prodok@vhbonline.org. Note that there is a participation fee
as stated on the linked website.
