Call for nominations:
IGAFIT 2019 Workshop for Postdoctoral Researchers in Algorithms
Będlewo Palace, Poland, October 14 – 18, 2019
http://igafit.mimuw.edu.pl/?page_id=373022
The IGAFIT (http://igafit.mimuw.edu.pl/) is organizing an international IGAFIT 2019 Workshop for Postdoctoral Researchers in Algorithms, and we are seeking nominations for participation in this event.
The goal of the IGAFIT 2019 Workshop for Postdoctoral Researchers in Algorithms is to provide a forum for a meeting of leading European (including Israel) and international young researchers in algorithms (incl. data structures, some hardness results, online/distributed/dynamics/graph/approximation/randomized/parallel/.../ algorithms, combinatorial optimization, etc), to present the highlights of the recent developments in algorithms, to discuss advances in this area, and to discuss joint research projects and joint research initiatives. The workshop will offer a wide picture of the latest research in algorithms done by young researchers through a series of research talks and the attendance in the workshop will give also an opportunity for networking and to meet fellow young algorithmic researchers. Moreover, optionally, the workshop could have tutorials on grant preparation (e.g., how to apply for an ERC Starting Grant) etc. An important aim of this initiative is to provide the European algorithmic community a forum for the next generation of research leaders, and with this to integrate and support the European research community in algorithms.
Location:
The event will take place in the Research and Conference Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences (https://www.impan.pl/en/activities/bedlewo-conference-center) at Będlewo Palace, Poland, October 14 – 18, 2019. Provisionally, the registration fee (covering full board, including the meals and accommodation) will be around 200 EUR for the whole workshop (no financial support is available).
Eligibility:
We are seeking nominations for participation in this event.
We would like to see a broad spectrum of leading post-doctoral researchers in algorithms and the main eligibility criteria are active research and publications in algorithms (data structures, some hardness results, online/distributed/dynamics/graph/approximation/randomized/parallel/.../ algorithms, combinatorial optimization, etc) and a post-doc (or equivalent) status in October 2019.
While we're mainly focusing on European and Israeli affiliated participants, we're welcoming nominations of all international algorithmic post-docs.
Nomination form:
