courses at the Sundar STEM School (https://www.sundarstem.edu.pk/) in
Lahore, Pakistan. Sundar is Pakistan's first specialized high school with a
focus on algorithmic problem solving and preparing the nation's top
students for attendance at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI).
The teacher's role is to mentor high-school students who are relatively new
to algorithms and coding and cover a wide range of topics in discrete
mathematics, graph theory, basic algorithms and C++ programming. This will
entail ~4.5 hours of teaching and doubt-clearing per day. Some of our
students have already gone through one year of extensive training and
others are just joining this summer. We prefer applicants who are either
PhD students/graduates in theoretical computer science or have a strong
background in competitive programming or IOI, ICPC and similar Olympiads.
The position will be based at our campus in Lahore, one of the oldest and
most fascinating cities in Asia, with an unbeatable cultural and culinary
scene. This is a two-month full-time position during the summer. Our school
hours are until 3 pm, so the teacher will have the afternoons free. The
salary range is 300-400 USD per week for a pre-doctoral teacher and 700-800
USD per week for a teacher with a PhD. The exact amount would be determined
based on the teacher's CV and experience. Food, accommodation and a return
ticket will be provided by the school and the applicable taxes are also
covered by our side.
To apply, please send your CV to goharshady@gmail.com. Please explicitly
mention any previous teaching experience and your availability during the
summer.
