[DMANET] PhD Position in Economics @ University of St.Gallen

The Institute of Economic Research and Policy (ERP-HSG<https://erp.unisg.ch/de/>) at the University of St.Gallen is seeking a highly motivated PhD student to work on the SNF-funded project "RIPE - Rational Inattention and Preference Elicitation". The project is led by Prof. Dr. Michèle Müller-Itten (https://sites.google.com/site/mmulleritten). In this project, we combine experimental, numeric and theoretical methods to study the behavioral implications of flexible, costly learning.

The position leads to a PhD in economics, but is open to motivated students with a Masters degree in either economics or mathematics. We seek someone who is enthusiastic about research and brings a strong background in experimental economics, numerical methods and/or economic theory. The project will involve running several choice experiments (online and in the lab) to identify key features that drive the cost of learning. Previous hands-on experience with designing and running experiments is desirable but can be substituted with enthusiasm to learn about these methods.
