The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMADA) at the
University of Southern Denmark, Odense, invites applicants for a position
as Associate Professor of Discrete Mathematics. The appointment is
expected to take effect on April 1, 2010.
The successful applicant is expected to have a well documented record of
research in theoretical mathematics and computer science (algorithm
theory). Applications from researchers within the research areas of the
department are particularly welcome.
The research areas of the department's discrete mathematics group is
characterized by graph colouring, extremal graph theory, oriented graphs,
flow network, scheduling, algorithms and complexity theory, practical
applications of combinatorial optimization and efficient algorithms (the
last mentioned also in collaboration with industrial partners).
The position is placed in the department's mathematics group, but the
successful applicant is also expected to have the ability to and interest
in collaboration with the other research groups at the department,
particularly applied mathematics and computer science.
