The research interests of the group are in combinatorial optimization,
approximation algorithms, integer programming, network design, computational
and discrete geometry and applied optimization.
We are looking for highly motivated Ph.D. candidates with a solid
background in algorithmic discrete mathematics (such as linear and integer
programming, graph-algorithms, combinatorial optimization or algorithmic
number theory).
A Master Degree in Mathematics or Computer Science is preferred.
Additionally, good programming skills in C++ are welcome.
All PhD positions at EPFL are subject to admission to an EPFL doctoral
program. Strong candidates who are interested in pursuing their PhD-studies
within the "Discrete Optimization Group" are encouraged to apply at the
Doctoral School of Mathematics at EPFL (http://phd.epfl.ch/page55513.html).
Indicate in your application that you wish to join the "Discrete Optimization
Group".
