[DMANET] Call for application Post-Doc at Telecom ParisTech

Dear all,

Please find below a call for application for a post-doc in Telecom
ParisTech, Paris, France.

POST-DOC POSITION

UNIVERSITY: Telecom ParisTech, Paris, France

CONTACT: Marceau Coupechoux, Associate Professor in the Computer and
Network Science Dept. marceau.coupechoux@telecom-paristech.fr

TITLE: Resource Allocation in Energy Harvesting Small Cells

TOPIC: The research topic is to study and propose energy efficient
resource allocation algorithms for LTE small cells, included in a mesh
network and backhauled by a wireless technology (LTE or WiFi). The
following points will be studied: (1) define a methodology for the
performance evaluation of the small cells, taking into account the
trade-off between quality of service and energy consumption (see [1] for
a first step); (2) study the possibility to shut down some small cells
(on the access side or on the backhaul side) when there is no traffic
(see for example [2]); (3) design joint energy and radio resource
allocation algorithms while taking into account the unpredictability of
the energy from the grid or from renewable sources (see [3] in the
context of energy harvesting sensors).

CONTEXT: The work will be part of a French competitivity cluster project
(FUI) called LCI4D (Low Cost Infrastructure for Developing Countries)
dedicated to the deployment of small cells in developing countries.
Project partners are Orange Labs, Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs, SILICOM,
Green Communications, Bluwan, Supelec and Institut Mines-Telecom. The
post-doc researcher will work in close relationship with Orange Labs.

DURATION: 9 months

in wireless networks and having some previous knowledge in Optimization
and Probability Theory.
