The position is for three years and is paid according to E 13 TV-L (75%). The position is part of the project "Tropical Mechanism Design" that is jointly headed by Max Klimm (HU Berlin) and Michael Joswig (TU Berlin). The project is part of the Berlin Mathematics research Center MATH+ (http://mathplus.de <http://mathplus.de/>) that involves all three Berlin universities and opens the possibility for participating in many scientific activities (summer schools, soft skill courses, special semesters etc.) . There is no teaching obligation.
The position is in the Operations Research Group of Max Klimm (https://www.wiwi.hu-berlin.de/de/professuren/bwl/or <https://www.wiwi.hu-berlin.de/de/professuren/bwl/or>) with close collaboration with the Discrete Mathematics Group of Michael Joswig (https://page.math.tu-berlin.de/~joswig/ <https://page.math.tu-berlin.de/~joswig/>). The project deals with novel geometric approaches to mechanism design questions.
We expect the candidate to have a completed academic education in mathematics, computer science, economics or a related field, solid background in discrete mathematics, optimization, theoretical computer science and/or theoretical economics.
