Dear all,
We are hiring a PhD student in Optimization and Systems Theory at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden!
We seek a highly motivated person with a strong background in applied/computational mathematics, with a degree in mathematics, operations research, or a suitable engineering degree. A successful candidate needs to be interested in problem solving and developing mathematical methods.
The project aims at developing new algorithms and methods for solving certain types of mixed-integer problems. How to obtain strong continuous relaxations is one of the key questions in the project. You will have the opportunity to explore and develop alternative formulations and algorithms. You will work with both mathematical theory and practical tasks, such as, implementing and testing optimization techniques. The overall goal is to develop new methods for solving certain types of problems that are currently difficult, or even computationally intractable.
The student will be supervised by Assistant Professor Jan Kronqvist.
