Applications are invited for a PhD position at the Research Institute for Supply Chain Management at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business). The position is available from October 23, for 30h/week. The appointment is for 3 years.
You will actively collaborate on an exciting third-party funded research project. The project deals with improving the performance of railway systems by developing new algorithms for optimization problems in real-time disruption management. The aim is both to have improvement on the methodological side and create practical impact.

What you have to offer
-Academic degree: You have a diploma/master's degree in business computing, mathematics, computer science or a related field that qualifies you for enrollment in a doctoral program at WU.
-Strong knowledge of Operations Research (E.g. thesis written in Operations Research or a strongly related topic)
-Excellent Programming language skills (e.g. in C, C++, Python …)
-Interest in public transport optimization
-Proficiency in English

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €2,457.98 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience.
