[DMANET] Research Assistant/Ph.D./Postdoc Positions in Operations Research at Hamad bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Doha, Qatar.

In the context of the Academic Research Grant (ARG) project titled "RATIONAL - Robust And daTa-drIven Optimization for iNstAnt Logistics," recently funded by the Qatar National Research Fund, led by Dr. Roberto Baldacci (HBKU, Qatar), in collaboration with Dr. Chefi Triki (University of Kent, UK), Dr. Yu Zhang (Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, China), and Snoonu (Qatar's leading delivery company), we are recruiting for the following positions:

* Two Research Assistants (part-time, based in the UK and China).
* One PhD student (three-year, based in Qatar).
* One Postdoc (two-year, based in Qatar).
Project Overview: The overarching goal of RATIONAL is to model and solve realistic transportation problems arising from instant logistics services, focusing on services provided by food delivery companies. These widely used and constantly expanding services face decision-making challenges integral to instant logistics services. The project specifically concentrates on the operational management of on-demand delivery services utilizing crowdsourced delivery. Through analyzing actual operational data and considering uncertain factors such as customer demands, delivery times, and operational environment parameters, the project aims to develop data-driven robust optimization methods for crowdsourced capacity, riders' wages, delivery dispatching, and route optimization at both tactical and operational levels.

Candidate Profile:

* Master's degree (or equivalent) or Ph.D. degree (for Postdoc) in a quantitative-oriented field such as mathematics, computer science, and industrial engineering.
* Extensive expertise in mathematical programming, algorithm design and implementation, and network optimization, with a focus on implementing Operations Research methods.
