80% Senior Researcher position in Operations Research open at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) from March 2024 on
An 80% Senior Researcher position is available from March 2024 on at the Department of Informatics at the University of Fribourg (UniFR) within the Decision Support & Operations Research (DS&OR) group. The DS&OR group is affiliated to the Smart Living Lab (SLL, https://www.smartlivinglab.ch/en/), which brings together research groups from EPFL, HEIA-FR and UniFR.
The main tasks of the selected candidate will consist in doing research in the area of operations research applied to logistics and transportation problems. The candidate is expected to be active in the writing of proposals to attract third-party funding (e.g., SNSF, European calls) and to trigger collaborations within the SLL and with industrial partners. The outcomes of the conducted research activities are to be published in recognized international journals and to be presented in national and international conferences. The supervision of bachelor and master students is as well envisioned.
The position is fully funded for a period of 2 years (with a potential extension based on the undergoing projects). Start date is March 1st, 2024 at the earliest. * have a PhD degree in Operations Research, Computer Science, Mathematics or related domain;
* have a strong background in operations research applied to logistics and transportation problems;
* be proactive and willing to work in team.
