[DMANET] PhD position at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg

A funded PhD position is available in the group of Timm Oertel, at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. Candidates should be interested in doing research in discrete mathematics, with a strong emphasis on the theory of integer optimization. Possible research topics include IP-LP proximity/approximation or high-dimensional and sparse IPs.

It is expected that candidates have a strong background in optimization and/or convex and discrete geometry. Proficiency in English is required, while knowledge of German is welcome but not compulsory.

The position comes with a salary of 75% of a German TV-L E 13 position, as well as a teaching obligation in mathematics and data science. The starting date is the 1st of Oktober or later.
