[DMANET] CanaDAM: Call for Special Events, Satellite Events and Future Hosts

The 2027 Canadian Discrete and Algorithmic Mathematics Conference
(CanaDAM 2027) will be held at the University of British Columbia
Okanagan Campus in Kelowna, British Columbia in May or June of 2027:
https://canadam.ca/2027. We are currently accepting proposals for
Special Events and Satellite Events for CanaDAM 2027 and Hosting Bids
for CanaDAM 2029. See below for details.

1. Call for Special Events at CanaDAM 2027

CanaDAM has a tradition of hosting special events during lunch breaks or
evenings throughout the conference. These events focus on topics that
are relevant to the Discrete and Algorithmic Mathematics community but
do not focus directly on mathematical research. Past events include
Women in Math and EDI luncheons, job hunting panels for students and
postdocs, and information sessions related to NSERC applications.

We are currently accepting proposals for special events at CanaDAM 2027.
Please e-mail your proposals to ec-chair@canadam.ca and include the
following information.

* Name, affiliation and e-mail address of the organizer(s).
* A brief description of the event.
* A description of the target audience.
* Desired time of the event (lunch break or evening).
* An approximate budget per participant.

We may be able to provide financial support from the conference budget
or apply for additional funding for your event. The CanaDAM organizers
are available to provide limited logistical support, but the main
responsibility for the organization of special events lies with the
special event organizers.

There is no official deadline for proposals. Please feel free to contact
ec-chair@canadam.ca to ask questions or to inform us that you plan to
submit a proposal in the future.

2. Call for CanaDAM 2027 Satellite Events

Are you interested in holding a satellite conference, workshop, summer
school, etc, before or after CanaDAM 2027? Please contact
ec-chair@canadam.ca to express interest. If your event is relevant to
the CanaDAM community, we may be able to distribute information about it
through our website and mailing list. Organizers of satellite events are
responsible for procuring their own funding and handling the logistics
of organizing their event.

3. Call for CanaDAM 2029 Host Bids

We are seeking host cities for CanaDAM 2029 and other future
conferences. A bid should include details about the location, including
housing and travel options, available rooms on campus, and members of
the local committee. Information about the potential for satellite
events and financial support would strengthen a bid. The location must
be able to accommodate 350 or more attendees for a 4 day conference in
May or June. Please contact ec-chair@canadam.ca for more information.

4. CanaDAM Mailing List

To receive updates on CanaDAM 2027 and future conferences, join our
mailing list. To subscribe, send a blank e-mail to CanaDAM-join@canadam.ca
and then follow the instructions in the confirmation e-mail. You can
unsubscribe any time by sending an e-mail to CanaDAM-leave@canadam.ca
and following the instructions in the confirmation e-mail.

We hope to see you in Kelowna in 2027,

Jonathan Noel
on behalf of the CanaDAM Executive Committee
