The research group "Algorithms and Complexity" of the Heinz Nixdorf Institute and the Department of Computer Sciences of the
Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics is searching for a new member of the scientific staff. We
offer a position as a Research Assistant (the salary is according to TV-L 13).
Both PhD student and PostDoc applications are welcome. The position is meant for the candidate's support for his or her doctoral
studies (PhD student), resp. qualification towards an academic career (PostDocs).
For PhD students, the duration depends on the already achieved progress of the PhD project, but lasts for at most 4 years (c.f.
Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). For PostDocs, the duration is at most 2 years.
Your duties and responsibilities:
Design and Analysis of online algorithms for resource allocation is dynamic networks; teaching load of up to 4 hours per week
during the semesters.
Your profile:
A qualified candidate has a Master's or equivalent degree resp. PhD degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, with emphasis on
topics from Theoretical Computer Science, like online, randomized or distributed algorithms.
