Applications are invited for a fully funded PhD position (TV-L 13) in Theoretical Computer Science at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Research duties will focus on the analysis of efficient approximation and online algorithms as well as on randomized processes. Both classical optimization problems (e.g., scheduling in data centers) and more modern scenarios (e.g., the online exploration of huge networks) will be considered. Candidates are expected to have an excellent background in theoretical computer science and/or discrete mathematics.
