Special issue of the 'it - Information Technology' journal on the topic
'Algorithm Engineering'
'it - Information Technology' is the oldest German journal in the field
of information technology with the major aim to highlight issues on
ongoing newsworthy areas in information technology and informatics and
their application. It aims at presenting the topics with a holistic view
and addresses scientists, graduate students, and experts in industrial
research and development.
The special issue aims at highlighting the role of algorithm engineering
in trajectory data processing. The goal is to to cover the typical data
processing pipeline. Thus, we would like to invite contributions that
either discuss algorithm engineering techniques in the context of a step
in the pipeline, or show the impact of these techniques in a survey.
Topics include but are not limited to:
* trajectory data collection
* map matching
* trajectory indexing
* trajectory compression
* data structures for querying trajectory sets
* applications of trajectory analysis, e.g. for traffic control or
animal movement
* visualization of trajectory sets
* software, systems, platforms and their evaluation
Following the journal's high standards, all contributions will undergo a
strict reviewing process.
The submission deadline is 31 January 2020. Publication of accepted
submissions is planned for mid 2020.
