BREMEN
The Data Science Center of Department 3 (Mathematics and Computer 
Science) of the University of Bremen is offering -- conditional to the 
release of budgetary funds -- a position for a
   Doctoral Researcher (m/f/d)
   in the Data Science Center
   – Salary according to German federal pay scale 13 TV-L (100%)
   for the duration of up to five years.
The employment is fixed-term and governed by the Act of Academic 
Fixed-Term Contracts (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz). Therefore, 
candidates may only be considered for employment if they still have the 
respective qualification periods available in accordance with §2 (1) 
WissZeitVG.
Data Science utilizes methods from Computer Science and Mathematics to 
gain knowledge about structured and unstructured data. The goal of the 
Data Science Center is to pool the university's expertise in data 
preparation, analysis and storage and thereby promote top research, 
applications in all scientific disciplines and qualification on a broad 
scale.
The position includes the following:
     - Methodological support in gathering, preparing, analyzing, storing
       and archiving data
     - Implementing FAIR Principles of scientific data management
     - Networking with researchers from other disciplines
     - Developing future technologies, e.g. machine learning, deep
       learning
     - Working independently and dedicated in close cooperation with
       internal and external partners
     - Assisting in acquiring funds for research projects
This position provides the opportunity for scientific qualification 
within the framework of a doctoral degree.
Essential qualifications:
     - Completed Master's degree or Diplom in Computer Science (or
       equivalent)
     - Good to excellent programming skills (C/C++, Python)
     - Solid proficiency in methods of data analysis
     - Good English skills
     - Willingness and ability to quickly and comprehensively adjust to
       new settings
