[DMANET] postdoc opportunity

*Overview*

We are seeking candidates for a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship position to
work at the Institute of Computing (www.ic.unicamp.br/en), University of
Campinas, Unicamp located in Campinas, SP, Brazil to work under the
supervision of Prof. Eduardo C. Xavier.

This fellowship is part of a Project, entitled "Algorithms for Packing
Problems" funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (Fapesp) in a
thematic project entitled "Investigation of hard problems from the
algorithmic and structural standpoints":

*Goals*

Development of parallel exact algorithms and parallel heuristics to solve
large instances of packing problems.

*Specifications*

The candidate must have a PhD in Computer Science, Operations Research,
Applied Mathematics or in a related field. The candidate must have
finished the PhD less than seven years before the beginning of the PD
fellowship. The candidate should demonstrate solid background in
combinatorial optimization, heuristics, meta-heuristics. Knowledgement in
parallel programming and parallel algorithms is highly desirable.

The candidate is expected to interact with other members of the project
including, masters and PhD students, and professors.

*Fellowship*

The post-doctoral fellowship includes a monthly stipend of R$ 7.373,10
(about USD
1,900 and EU$ 1,700), access to the health-care system of Unicamp, and
research
contingency funds (15% of the annual value of the fellowship, each year).
