[DMANET] FOGA2021 CFP: Online Conference and Submission Site Open

*FOGA2021:* *Foundations of Genetic Algorithms XVI*

*The conference is now officially an online-only event and the submission
site is now open*

The FOGA conference series aims at advancing the understanding of the
working principles behind Evolutionary Algorithms and related Randomized
Search heuristics. It is a premier event to discuss advances in the
theoretical foundations of these algorithms, corresponding tools and
frameworks suitable to analyze them, and different aspects of comparing
algorithm performance.

Date September 6-8, 2021
Venue FH Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, Dornbirn, Austria *[changed
to an online-only event]*

*List of Topics*

- Run time analysis
- Mathematical tools suitable for the analysis of search heuristics
- Fitness landscapes and problem difficulty
- Configuration and selection of algorithms, heuristics, operators, and
parameters
- Stochastic and dynamic environments, noisy evaluations
- Constrained optimization
- Problem representation
- Complexity theory for search heuristics
- Multi-objective optimization
- Benchmarking
- Connections between black-box optimization and machine learning

FOGA 2021 invites submissions covering the entire spectrum of work, ranging
from rigorously derived mathematical results to carefully designed
empirical studies.

Program Committee chair, Dr. Pietro Oliveto, Department of Computer
Science, University of Sheffield

*Submission Guidelines*
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another
journal or conference.
FOGA contributions are full papers that are required to be submitted in PDF
format until the deadline on May 7, 2021 (UCT+1).
Authors should submit their papers consistent with the alternate 2-column
ACM SIG style file "sigconf".

- Latex/Word templates and class files can be obtained at
www.acm.org/publications/proceedings-template
- Collaborative LaTeX authoring is available via the Overleaf platform
- 15 pages maximum (including references)
- Postscript (ps) files or any other format will not be accepted
- Over-length papers will be rejected without review
- Submissions must be sufficiently self-contained to allow for a
complete understanding of all the explanations given. Yet, authors are
welcome to provide an appendix with supplemental material, e.g. full
proofs, additional figures, or examples for the review process only. The
reviewers won't be required to look at this supplemental material.

All submissions will be subject to a thorough double-blind review with a
subsequent rebuttal phase.
For each submission, at least the presenting author is required to register
and attend the conference.

*Publication*
The FOGA2021 proceedings will be published by ACM Press and accessible via
the ACM Digital Library. In contrast to previous FOGAs, we will provide
"at-conference" proceedings (instead of "post-conference").

*Important Dates*

*Submission deadline*

*May 7, 2021*

Author rebuttal phase

June 8 - 14, 2021

Notification of acceptance

June 27, 2021

Camera-ready submission

July 14, 2021

Early-registration deadline

July 14, 2021

*Venue*
The conference will be held at Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences in
Dornbirn, Austria. Located in the center of Europe, Dornbirn is one of the
major cities of the Alpine Rhine Valley. For details, refer to the
conference website.
The ongoing limitations have led to the decision to make FOGA2021 an
*online-only
event*. Nevertheless, the organization team will do its best to provide a
pleasant and exciting conference experience.

*Contact*
All questions about submissions should be emailed to the FOGA organization
team (foga2021_at_easychair.org).
