co-chairs.

SUBMISSIONS

We encourage the submission of both full papers and short papers containing
high-quality research describing original, unpublished work. Full papers
are expected to provide well-rounded contributions, where novelty,
originality, and sufficient preliminary evaluation are included. Short
papers may be position papers or may describe preliminary or highly
speculative work.

Papers must be submitted through: https://cf25.hotcrp.com/

Full papers are a maximum of eight (8) pages (excluding references) and short
papers are a maximum of four (4) (including references) pages. All papers
should use the double-column ACM conference format. Page limits include
figures, tables and appendices. Authors may buy up to two (2) extra pages
for accepted full papers.

As the review process is double-blind, the removal of all identifying
information from paper submissions is required (e.g., cite own (previous)
work in the third person, avoid references to machines and/or systems that
can identify the paper authors, etc.). Papers not conforming to the above
submission policies on formatting, page limits, and the removal of
identifying information, are likely to be automatically rejected. Authors
are strongly advised to submit their papers with the final list of authors
in the submission system, as changes may not be feasible at later stages
(due to restrictions at the publisher).

By submitting your article to an ACM Publication, you are hereby
acknowledging that you and your co-authors are subject to all ACM
Publications Policies, including ACM's new Publications Policy on Research
Involving Human Participants and Subjects. Alleged violations of this
policy or any ACM Publications Policy will be investigated by ACM and may
result in a full retraction of your paper, in addition to other potential
penalties, as per ACM Publications Policy.

Registration and No-show policy: At least one full registration is required
from a submission author for each accepted paper and all accepted papers
are expected to be presented in person at the conference. If circumstances
arise such that authors are unable to present their papers at the
conference, they must contact the PC co-chairs with a proposal for a
replacement presenter. A no-show will result in exclusion from the ACM
digital library proceedings.

CALL FOR ARTIFACT EVALUATION AND DISCLAIMER

The CF25 Organizing Committee strongly encourages authors on a voluntary
basis to present the Artifact Evaluation (AE) documentation to support
their scientific results. The Artifact Evaluation is run by a different
committee after the acceptance of the paper and does not affect the paper
evaluation itself.

Authors may submit the artifact during the submission period or after the
notification. To arrange the necessary computing resources, authors are
invited to flag the option during the paper registration if they are
willing to participate in the evaluation. Authors are encouraged, but not
required, to include the AE appendix in the paper at the time of
submission. Note that the AE appendix does not count toward the page limit.

ARTIFACT PREPARATION

CF25 adopts the ACM Artifact Review and Badging (Version 1.1 - August 24,
2020). By "artifact", we mean a digital object that was either created by
the authors to be used as part of the study or generated by the experiment
itself. Typical artifacts may include system descriptions or scripts to
install the environment or reproduce specific experiments. Authors are
invited to include a one-page appendix to the main paper (after the
references). The appendix does not count toward the page limit.

To prepare the Appendix and avoid common mistakes, authors may refer to the
following guide: https://ctuning.org/ae/checklist.html

A Latex template can be found at the following link:
https://github.com/ctuning/ck-artifact-evaluation/blob/master/wfe/artifact-evaluation/templates/ae.tex

ARTIFACT REVIEW PROCESS

The Artifact Evaluation Committee will reproduce the paper by following the
instructions included in the appendix and verify ACM roles for assigned
badges. For example, in order to have a paper with an Artifact Available
badge, the code and data should be stored in a permanent archive with a DOI
or another unique identifier.

Authors may be invited by the AE Committee to revise their instructions
according to their feedback. At the end of the process, AE Committee will
recommend one or more badges to assign to the paper among those supported
by the ACM reproducibility policy.

Best Regards,
*Tri Nguyen*

======================================
PAPER SUBMISSION
======================================

A submitted paper should clearly motivate the importance of the problem being addressed, discuss prior work and its relationship to the paper, explicitly and precisely state the paper's key contributions, and outline the key technical ideas and methods used to achieve the main claims. A submission should strive to be accessible to a broad audience, as well as having sufficient details for experts in the area.

Regular Papers: A regular paper must report on original research that has not been previously published. It is not permitted to submit the same material concurrently to journals or conferences with proceedings. Format and length requirements for submissions are stated below. All ideas necessary for an expert to fully verify the central claims in a paper, including full proofs and experimental results, where applicable, should be included in the submission.

Brief Announcements: A brief announcement may describe work in progress or work presented elsewhere. A brief announcement may also report on original research results that can be fully presented in the limited space available. The title of a brief announcement must begin with "Brief Announcement: ".

Submission format: All submission should be typeset using 11-point or larger fonts, in a single-column, single-space (between lines) format with ample spacing throughout and 1-inch margins all around, on letter-size (8 1/2 x 11 inch) paper.

Regular submissions should start with a title page consisting of the title of the paper, no author information (see paragraph on double-blind reviewing below), and an abstract of a few paragraphs summarizing the paper's contributions. There is no page limit and authors are encouraged to use the "full version" of their paper as the submission. Each submission should contain within the initial ten pages following the title page a clear presentation of the merits of the paper, including a discussion of the paper's importance within the context of prior work and a description of the key technical and conceptual ideas used to achieve its main claims. Each submission must contain full proofs of all claims in the paper. Although there is no bound on the length of a submission, material other than the abstract, table of contents, and the first ten pages will be read at the committee's discretion. Authors are encouraged to put the references at the very end of the submission.

Brief announcement submissions must have a length of at most 5 pages including title, abstract, and the references.

Submissions not conforming to the rules stated in this call, as well as papers outside the scope of the conference, may be rejected without consideration.

Best practices for citations: Alphabetical orderings of authors can lead to biases. Therefore, authors are encouraged to avoid "et al." in citations, and instead mention all author names.

======================================
DOUBLE-BLIND REVIEWING
======================================

The conference will employ a lightweight double-blind reviewing process. Submissions should not reveal the identity of the authors in any way. In particular, authors' names, affiliations, and email addresses should not appear anywhere in the submission. Nothing should be done in the name of anonymity that weakens the submission or makes the job of reviewing the paper more difficult. In particular, important references should not be omitted or anonymized. In addition, authors should feel free to disseminate their ideas or draft versions of their paper as they normally would. For example, authors may post drafts of their papers on the web, submit them to arXiv, and give talks on their research ideas. Authors with further questions on double-blind reviewing are encouraged to contact the PC chair by email.

======================================
CONFLICT OF INTEREST
======================================

Indications of conflicts of interest will be required in the submission form. A conflict of interest is limited to the following:

- A family member or close friend.
- A Ph.D. advisor or advisee (no time limit), or postdoctoral or undergraduate mentor or mentee within the past five years.
- A person with the same affiliation.
- A person involved in an alleged incident of harassment. (It is not required that the incident be reported.)
- Frequent collaborators, or collaborators who have jointly published papers within the last two years.

If you feel that you have a valid reason for a conflict of interest not listed above, contact the PC chair or one of the Theory of Computing Advocates affiliated with this conference (Faith Ellen and Idit Keidar). The PC chair may request that a ToC advocate confidentially verify the
reason for a conflict of interest.

======================================
PUBLICATION
======================================

Accepted regular papers of up to 10 pages and brief announcements of up to 3 pages in two-column ACM proceedings format will be included in the conference proceedings. They must be formatted with the ACM Master templates using

\documentclass[sigconf]{acmart}.

If more space than available in the proceedings for an accepted paper is needed, a full version must be available publicly, e.g. on arXiv, by the due date for the proceedings version, and the proceedings version must refer to this.

The official publication date is the date the proceedings are made available in the ACM Digital Library. This date may be up to two weeks prior to the first day of the conference. The official publication date affects the deadline for any patent filings related to published work.

Extended and revised versions of selected papers will be considered for a special issue of the journal Distributed Computing. Up to two selected papers will be considered for publication in the Journal of the ACM.

Venice.

SEA aims to attract papers from the Computer Science community, the
Operations
Research/Mathematical Programming community and any other scientific
community
that is concerned with the main theme of the symposium, namely the role of
experimentation and of algorithm engineering techniques in the design and
evaluation of algorithms and data structures. Submissions should present
significant contributions supported by experimental evaluation,
methodological
issues in the design and interpretation of experiments, the use of
(meta-)heuristics, or application-driven case studies that deepen the
understanding of the complexity of a problem.

https://sites.google.com/view/giulia-bernardini>
Daniel Lemire, University of Quebec <https://lemire.me/en/>
Sebastiano Vigna, University of Milan <https://vigna.di.unimi.it/>

BEST PAPER AWARD

The program committee will identify a submission as the best paper.

PROCEEDINGS

The conference proceedings will be published in the Leibniz International
Proceedings in Informatics (LIPIcs), a series of high-quality conference
proceedings across all fields in informatics established in cooperation
with
Schloss Dagstuhl Leibniz Center for Informatics. SEA Proceedings volumes
are
published according to the principle of OpenAccess, i.e., they are
available
online and free of charge.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

The authors should submit a paper not exceeding 12 pages, excluding the
bibliography, the front page (title, keywords, abstract, ...), and a brief
appendix of up to 5 pages (figures and tables should be counted as part of
the space occupied by the appendix). This year, for the first time in SEA,
all papers have to be anonymized so author names and affiliations cannot be
included (see Double-Blind Reviewing section). Non-anonymized papers will
be
desk-rejected.

Authors are required to use the LaTeX style file supplied for the LIPIcs
style, without changing default values nor setting font size options in the
"documentclass" statement. Final proceedings papers must be camera-ready
in this format. We emphasize that a clearly marked Appendix of up to 5
pages,
which will not count toward the 12 page submission limit, can be included
and
will be read at the referees' discretion. All submissions have to be made
via
the EasyChair submission page for the conference.

Papers submitted for review should represent original, previously
unpublished
work or surveys of important results. At the time the paper is submitted to
SEA, and for the entire review period, the paper (or essentially the same
paper) should not be under review by any other conference with published
proceedings or by a scientific journal. At least one author of each
accepted
paper will be expected to attend the conference and present the paper.
Specifically, no accepted paper will be published unless an author
registers
to participate in the conference.

DOUBLE-BLIND REVIEWING

SEA will implement a double-blind review process for the first time. As
such,
submissions must not disclose the authors' identities in any way. In
particular,
names, affiliations, and email addresses must be excluded from the paper.
Authors should reference their prior work in the third person (e.g.,
instead of
writing "We build on our previous work...", they should write "This work
builds
on the research of..."). Authors should also take care of the anonymization
of
accompanying software and data. In particular, they cannot link software
hosted
on their own GitHub page, but they need to link it anonymously (for
example,
via DropBox). The authors can insert the public GitHub links back in the
proceedings version of their papers. Authors are free to share their ideas
and
drafts as they usually would. For instance, they can submit to repositories
like
arXiv or give talks on their research. If there are publicly accessible
versions
of the submission, authors may mention this in the submission (without
including
links or citations). Alternatively, they can inform the chairs, who will
keep
these details confidential unless sharing them is necessary for a fair
review.

Double-blind reviewing aims to allow program committee members and external
reviewers to evaluate the paper impartially, without bias. However, it's
not
intended to make determining the authors' identity impossible through
investigation. Authors should not compromise the submission's quality or
hinder
the review process in the name of anonymity; thus, key references must not
be
omitted or anonymized. Any authors with questions about the double-blind
review
process should contact the program committee chairs for clarification. All
papers failing to meet anonymization requirements will be desk-rejected.

LARGE LANGUAGE MODELS USAGE POLICY

Papers containing content generated by large language models (LLMs) such as
ChatGPT or images created using deep generative models (DGMs) such as
StableDiffusion are not allowed, except for:

- Generating scientific plots displaying data that the authors obtained
from
experiments (for example: it is allowed to use an LLM for generating
Python
code that generates plots showing experimental results)
- Polishing the text that the authors have personally written.

Despite using LLMs or DGMs, authors remain fully responsible for ensuring
their
submissions' accuracy, originality, and quality. We urge authors to
maintain the
integrity of the academic publishing process and avoid any actions that
could be
considered scientific misconduct, such as plagiarism and misrepresenting
figures.

If a submission includes LLM-generated text or DGM-generated images, we
require
the authors to disclose this information to the Program Chairs at the
moment of
submitting the paper, by checking a dedicated box on EasyChair (and
providing
details on how they used these models). If the Program Chairs should have
concerns
regarding potential scientific misconduct (which includes using such models
and
not declaring it, even for the allowed situations above listed), the
submission
may be subjected to checks for plagiarism or other violations. Any papers
failing
to meet these requirements will be desk-rejected, even after the review
process.

WORKSHOP

On July 25, 2025, there will be a workshop on Compressed Self-Indexes at
the
same venue. The occasion of the workshop is the 25th anniversary of the
following
two important data structures:

FM-index
Paolo Ferragina, Giovanni Manzini.

[DMANET] CfP Session "Forecasting, prediction and optimization" @ EURO 2025, Leeds

Session "Forecasting, prediction and optimization"
34rd Conference EURO Leeds, UK, 22-25 June 2025,
The explosion of data in recent years has increased the need for
advanced forecasting techniques in various domains, such as finance,
energy, healthcare or logistics, and is leading to research on
innovative procedures. A common distinction is made between prediction,
which attempts to determine a future state given the current setting
(for example, the performance of an algorithm given a parameter
setting), and forecasting, which involves a model of past behaviour,
such as in data series analysis. Forecasting and optimization are
overlapping algorithmic domains that mutually benefit from the results
produced by each. The entire field of prescriptive analytics is about
using past performance to determine the best future course of action and
optimization modules are typically integrated into predictive analytics
systems to support effective decision making and improve business
efficiency.
However, connections are not limited to this. The ongoing explosion of
artificial intelligence has added machine learning to the toolbox of
forecasters, with machine learning largely based on optimization
components. Conversely, recent contributions have incorporated
forecasting modules into the design of optimization systems,
particularly stochastic optimization systems. The study of analogous
bidirectional contributions has already characterized recent successful
research integrating optimization and AI in general and we believe that
much can be produced by focusing on forecasting.
This session solicits contributions that present successful case studies
integrating forecasting, prediction and optimization results, as well as
new theoretical advances that utilize components rooted in these domains.
