The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of
Bremen has an open position for a postdoc for 4 years with Tenure Track
to a permanent Senior Researcher position, with a competitive salary and
social security according to the Federal German Payment scale TV-L 14,
initially, and TV-L 15 for the permanent Senior Researcher.

We are looking for an early career researcher in computer science or
related fields with a focus on methodological and computational
foundations for data-driven decision-making, preferably with
applications in economics, administration, and society. The focus should
be on at least one of the following areas:

- Operations research, quantitative methods
- Modeling, evaluation and optimization of processes in economic and
social applications
- Decision-making under data uncertainty
- Big data analytics, business analytics, government analytics, learning
analytics.

The position is integrated into the Data Science Center and the
university's Scientific Focus Area "Minds, Media, Machines". There are
plenty of opportunities for cooperation with research groups within the
faculty, especially with the Combinatorial Optimization and Logistics
Research Group (Prof. Megow) and the Information Management Research
Group (Prof. Breiter), as well as with Business Informatics in Faculty 7
– Economics.

The University of Bremen, a mid-sized German institution accommodating

Cologne. Knowledge of German is initially not necessary; it is expected
that applicants are able to teach courses in German by the time of the
evaluation after 4 years.
