One year research position, with a possibility of extension,
postdoctoral level, at the University of Bergen, Norway.
The successful candidate will work on "Rigorous Theory of
Preprocessing" project funded by the European Research Council (ERC)
via the Advanced Investigator Grant scheme. The research areas are
Algorithms and
Complexity, in particular, fixed parameter tractability, parameterized
complexity, kernelization.

The group is rapidly growing and two new faculty (Daniel Lokshtanov
and Saket Saurabh) with a number of new PhDs and postdocs are
anticipated to join the group this fall.
Starting salary is on grade 57 (code 1109/pay framework 24.1) in the
Civil Service pay grade table which currently means NOK 448,400 gross
p.a., taxes should be at most 40%.
Preferred starting date: October-November 2011. The deadline is
August 10, 2012.
