Special Session: "Algorithmic Techniques and Applications for Green Urban

Zaroliagis (CTI & University of Patras, Greece) .

IISA 2013 is technically co-sponsored by IEEE and BAIF and hosted by the
University of Piraeus in Piraeus/Athens, Greece. IISA Proceedings will be
published by IEEE.

This special session welcomes papers addressing algorithmic techniques and
applications related to eco-friendly route planning in cities by all means
of transport. The session features research addressing all aspects of green
urban transportation, including route planning with low fuel consumption for
private cars, vehicle fleet management techniques for eco-friendly goods
transportation and efficient techniques for multimodal route planning as a
means to enhance the use of public transport either by citizens for their
daily commuting or by tourists for visiting a city. Specifically, topics
of interest include (but are not limited to):

- Environmentally friendly navigation for private vehicles
- Traffic prediction and load balancing methods
- Robust route planning under unforeseeable traffic conditions
- Eco-aware vehicle fleets route planning for goods transportation
- Eco-coaching techniques for economical driving
- Multi-modal public transportation route planning
- Techniques for personalized daily multi-modal public transportation routes
for tourists

Contributors are invited to submit their manuscript via the Conference web
page (http://iisa2013.unipi.gr/) by April 28, 2013. Instructions for
