One PhD position (75%)
in Mathematical Optimization – Machine Learning
at the Institute of Mathematics, University of Rostock
July 01, 2019 – June 30, 2022
Both positions are part of the project NEISS – Neural Extraction of
Information, Structures and Symmetries from images in the framework of
the digitalization initiative of excellence of the federal state
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The Postdoc will lead a junior research group of three doctoral students
with the focus on the reconstruction of particles and quantum states
from scattering patterns, the analysis of documents and the online
control and optimization of the Fusionexperiment Wendelstein 7-X. The
main topic of the PhD-student will be the reconstruction of the
structure of nanoparticles from wide-angle scattering images using
optimization and machine learning tools.
