The Department of Computer Science (CS) at Augusta University invites applications for two open rank tenure-track/tenured faculty positions in Data Science. Related research areas include machine learning, natural language processing, visualization, and the web & information retrieval. These positions complement the brand-new BS in Data Science program, and the BS Computer Science (ABET accredited<https://amspub.abet.org/aps/name-search?searchType=institution&keyword=augusta%20university>) and BS Cyber Operations (CAE-CO designated<https://www.caecommunity.org/cae-map>, one of only 22 institutions in the US) programs hosted by the CS Department. At the graduate level, we offer MS in Computer Science, and PhD in Computer and Cyber Sciences.
The newly formed CS Department has 32 faculty members and is part of the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences (SCCS). The School was formed in 2017 and is undergoing an unprecedented transformation, becoming a comprehensive research school, with national prominence, and a leader in computing and cybersecurity education and research. There is a strong momentum in externally funded research from the National Science Foundation, National Security Agency, Office of Naval Research, and other agencies. Despite being new, the theoretical computer science group has already achieved US national rank #58 at csrankings.org.
