2025 CfP AND PARTICIPATION


Welcome to the 34th Conference of The Association of European Operational Research Societies ( EURO ), which will convene in Leeds, UK ( https://euro2025leeds.uk/ ) June 22 – June 25, 2025 (EURO 2025). On the 50th anniversary of EURO , the EURO 2025 meeting promises to be memorable. As co-chairs of the stream on Societal Development, also referred to in the past as Operational Research (OR) for Development and Developing Countries (EWG-ORD), we invite you to present your current research findings at EURO 2025. This EWG-ORD stream is dedicated to advancing scholarly inquiry and practical applications in OR that contribute to the comprehensive development of society. Specifically, it aims to foster innovations that address critical social, economic, and environmental challenges, promoting sustainable progress and equitable outcomes for communities worldwide. Your participation will enrich the discourse on how OR can be leveraged to support the holistic advancement of societal well-being.


Past Topics have included, but are not limited to:


· Shallow or deep learning AI techniques in healthcare, supply chain, etc.

· Migration and mobility of living species (e.g., climate refugees, labor migration, cultural, etc.)

· New tech-enabled solutions for transportation and logistics

· New technologies for emergency management (fire, disaster relief, global health hazards, etc.)

· New technologies in educational support (system assessment, individual attainment, etc.)

· Sports as a strategic development tool to achieve inclusive, resilient, and sustainable growth

· Modeling and post hoc evaluation of environmental, social, and governance features

· Shaping the future in global ethics

· Applications to promote small, medium, and micro enterprises


Invited abstract submission :

Use one of the session codes listed below to submit a plain text abstract limited to no more than 1500 characters, including spaces, to the EURO Conference submission platform : https://www.euro-online.org/conf/euro34/ . Abstracts that do not fit one of the predefined sessions should be submitted to the EWG-ORD session (EC35B295). Abstracts with this code and a common theme will be assigned to an appropriate session.
